Webinars, workshops and consultant services to understand and facilitate children’s language learning and to help adults to communicate with confidence in a foreign language.
Hello and welcome to my website! I’m an Italian linguist. Many people think that a linguist is someone who speaks lots of languages and works as an interpreter; however, the focus of linguistics is about the structure, use and psychology of language in general. It deals both with the study of a particular language and the search for properties common to all languages.
Many linguists are also multilingual and so am I. I’m passionate about languages and I love helping people to learn languages. I work as an Italian language tutor, teaching and helping people to find the best way to learn Italian.
One of my goals as a linguist is to promote multilingualism in education. I organize conferences and workshops to provide assistance for schools that take a high number of students with a native language other than the language of instruction. I help teachers and the school staff in general to develop a culture of multilingualism and face the challenges of bilingualism in schools. I also support and assist families who move around the world for different reasons and raise their children with more than one language.
During my doctoral studies I specialized in the topic of dyslexia and foreign language learning, and I also became more interested in the relationship between dyslexia and bilingualism. Many students have to face the challenges of developmental dyslexia, which mainly manifests itself with a difficulty in learning to read properly. They struggle even more when they learn a foreign language at school. I offer individual consultancy to families and training courses to professionals to help them understand the specific needs of dyslexic children.
